The ABCC is committed to reducing red tape and promoting greater efficiencies in the building and construction industry. We want to make it easier to comply with the Building Code and designated building laws.
One way we are doing this is through the Workplace Relations Management Plan (WRMP) that head contractors are required to submit when tendering for Commonwealth funded building work*.
A simpler process
The ABCC has created a new, streamlined form that helps tenderers ensure their WRMP is compliant. Most sections of the form contain pre-approved examples so the effort required by head contractors for developing WRMPs is greatly reduced.
Head contractors can modify or create their own entries in the form if they wish.
Head contractors are not required to change existing WRMPs on current projects or WRMPs already submitted for assessment.
*Where the Commonwealth’s contribution to the project that contains building work is $5 million or more and this represents at least 50% of the total construction project value, or where the Commonwealth contributes $10 million or more, irrespective of what percentage of the total construction project value that represents.
