FWBC 2013-14 Annual Report Now Available

The FWBC 2013-14 Annual Report was tabled in Parliament on 22 October 2014.

Between 1 July 2013 and 30 June 2014, FWBC:

  • conducted 406 investigations into alleged breaches of workplace relations laws (106 of those investigations were ongoing as at 30 June 2014, compared to 78 ongoing investigations as at 30 June 2013);
  • conducted 1,746 site visits (compared to 1,366 in 2012-13);
  • initiated 25 new penalty proceedings in the courts (compared to 13 in 2012-13);
  • secured $2,262,350 in penalties as a result of court judgments (compared to $798,660 in 2012-13); and
  • delivered 153 presentations on workplace relations issues (compared to 176  in 2012-13).

Compared to the 2012-13 financial year, this activity represents a 27% increase in site visits, close to double the amount of penalty proceedings initiated, and triple the amount of penalties issued by the courts.
