December 2012 Industry Update

New templates make record-keeping simple

The FWBC website now hosts a range of new resources that will help employers in the construction industry to run their business fairly and productively.

We have just added 28 new template documents to the website, which employers can download to their own computer and use in the management of their business. These templates include information that is required to be kept by law, as well as information that is desirable to keep when managing your staff.

The documents, which can be accessed by clicking on the ’Resources’ section at www.fwbc.gov.au, are listed under the following subheadings:

  • Pay-slips and record keeping
  • Employing staff
  • Annual leave and long-service leave
  • Variation to hours of work
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Parental leave
  • Managing and ending employment

The aim in creating this new page is to make complying with workplace laws easier for employers. This page should be a one-stop-shop for employers who want to make sure their records are up-to-date and they are doing the right thing.

They also serve as a prompt reminder of the information that you should be recording and keeping. Save the templates to your computer today.
