Here is an update of matters lodged in the courts in August:

 

NEW CASES FILED WITH THE COURTS

 

CFMEU to face court over coercion claims

  • FWBC has launched proceedings against the CFMEU and current and former CFMEU officials for allegedly attempting to coerce a small building company to sign a enterprise agreement with the union.
  • It is alleged that one of the company’s construction sites in Hawthorn, Victoria, was closed due to the actions of CFMEU Assistant Secretary Shaun Reardon and former official Danny Berardi.
  • It is further alleged action by Berardi resulted in crane work ceasing at the site after the site manager was allegedly told: “You still don’t have an EBA.”
