Court Findings:

The Federal Court of Australia found that CFMEU delegate Les Lanscar and the CFMEU had contravened section 298S(2)(a) of the Workplace Relations Act 1996 (Cth) on 9 February 2005 by taking discriminatory action against a painting sub-contractor because its employees were not members of the CFMEU.

Court Outcome: 

On 4th July 2007, Justice Buchanan imposed penalties of $10,000 on the CFMEU and $2,000 on Mr Lanscar.
