Related entity

Under the 2016 Code, an entity is a related entity of a code covered entity if the second entity is engaged in building work and is either:
• connected with the code covered entity by being a member of the entity
• an associated entity (within the meaning of section 50AAA of the Corporations Act 2001) of the code covered entity.

On 11 April 2017, the Federal Court ordered penalties totalling $590,800 against the CFMEU and ten of its officials for co-ordinated unlawful industrial action across multiple construction projects in Victoria on 2 April and 22 May 2014. On each of the sites, Kane Constructions Pty Ltd was the head contractor.
