On 31 March 2014, two CFMEU Officials, one being James O'Connor, attended at the Adelaide High School project on West Terrace, Adelaide and entered site for the purpose of speaking with workers, without providing Right of Entry Notices.
The officials allegedly attended site and behaved in an improper manner by refusing to produce their right of entry permits when requested, and failed to comply with a direction to not enter site.
On 22 April 2016 the Federal Court issued orders in relation to this and six other cases stemming from unlawful conduct on building sites across Adelaide in 2014. The CFMEU was fined $27,500 and Mr O’Connor $2,500. Penalties handed down for the seven cases totalled $937,100.
