In 2014 to 15, FWBC investigators conducted 1,290 site visits.
The site visits have predominantly been proactive, for the purposes of explaining to industry participants the role of FWBC, the assistance the agency can provide and to promote better understanding of rights and responsibilities.
While the number of site visits has decreased from the agency-high achieved in 2013 to 14, the 2014 to 15 level remains comparable to levels across recent years.
Table 2.7 provides a state-by-state breakdown of site visits. During 2014 to 15, Western Australia replaced Victoria as the state with the most site visits, accounting for a quarter of all site visits. South Australia and Tasmania saw large increases, up 25% and 93% respectively. Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria site visit figures decreased from 2013 to 14 due to continued high levels of complex investigations taking place, coupled with delays in recruitment of investigators.
