ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE
FWBC DIRECTOR
On 5 April 2013, Leigh Johns resigned from his position as Acting Director of the Fair Work Building Industry Inspectorate (FWBII) and was appointed to the Fair Work Commission. Mr Johns was appointed Acting Director of the Fair Work Building Industry Inspectorate on 1 June 2012 when the agency commenced operations.
On 8 April 2013, Brian Corney was appointed the Acting Director.
The Director’s functions are set out in s. 10 of the FWBI Act, and include:
- promoting harmonious, productive and cooperative workplace relations in the building industry
- providing information, assistance and advice
- promoting and monitoring compliance
- inquiring into and investigating any suspected contraventions of a designated building law or a safety net contractual entitlement.
SENIOR EXECUTIVE SERVICE (SES) OFFICERS
The Director is supported by four business group managers. They provide high-level policy and strategic advice and report on matters relating to their specific business group to the Director and the FWBC Executive.
