In the 2016–17 reporting period, 352 Building Code inspections and audits were undertaken. Following the commencement of the 2016 Code on 2 December 2016, these compliance activities were aimed at improving compliance with both the 2013 and 2016 Codes (where applicable). Conduct internal benchmarking on the number and percentage of enterprise agreements assessed for compliance with the Building Code 2013 within target timeframes.

The agency conducted assessments for compliance with the Building Code 2013 until the 2016 Code commenced on 2 December 2016. Results against Performance Criterion 8

In the 2016–17 reporting period, 45 finalised audits of Building Code sites identified instances of non-compliance with the Building Code 2013. The FWBC Director made one recommendation for sanction to the Minister. All other instances of identified non-compliance were addressed through voluntary rectification, as per paragraph 6.5 of the Building Code 2013 Supporting Guidelines, issued April 2016.
