Our role

The Australian Building and Construction Commission (ABCC) promotes an improved workplace relations framework to ensure that building work is carried out fairly, efficiently and productively for the benefit of all building industry participants, without distinction, and for the benefit of the Australian economy as a whole.

Freedom of information

The Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth) provides the ability for people to access information held by the ABCC.

 

Leadership and structure

The ABCC is led by Commissioner, Nigel Hadgkiss. The ABCC has within it a number of business groups including the Office of the Commissioner, Corporate, the Building Code Group, the Office of the General Counsel and Regional Teams.
