The ABCC’s primary responsibility is to ensure that workplace laws are upheld in the building and construction industry.
The ABCC achieves this by:
- educating industry participants about their rights and responsibilities under workplace laws
- investigating suspected contraventions of the law, the National Code of Practice, federal agreements and awards
- instituting or intervening in proceedings when workplace laws are broken.
The ABCC reports regularly on its performance and the impact it has on the building and construction industry.
The ABCC provides statistical snapshots of its operational performance on a monthly basis.
The ABCC produces a number of reports about its performance as an agency and the way that it carries out its functions. This section includes the ABCC Annual Reports.
