New Appointment: Assistant Commissioner Operations, Linda Addison

The ABC Commissioner John Lloyd has welcome Linda Addison to the position of Assistant Commissioner Operations.

Ms Addison joins the ABCC on 23 August 2010 following the retirement of Mr John Draffin from the position of Assistant Commissioner Operations.

As the Assistant Commissioner Operations, Ms Addison will be responsible for leading the ABCC’s Operations Group. She will be responsible for the ABCC’s investigation, on-site advice and National Code roles. The conduct of these functions will require regular liaison with key industry contacts. Ms Addison will be a member of the ABCC Executive.

Ms Addison comes to the ABCC from the Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA). In her most recent role as the General Manager of the Immunisation Procurement Project she negotiated the National Partnership Agreement and the purchase of the H1N1 swine flu vaccine in response to the 2009 influenza pandemic. Ms Addison also held the positions of First Assistant Secretary in the Regulatory Policy and Governance Division at DoHA and was previously a Senior Manager in the Department of Transport and Regional Services.

The ABC Commissioner John Lloyd farewelled Mr Draffin and welcomed Ms Addison to the ABCC saying, 'I wish John Draffin well in his retirement and thank him for his excellent contribution to the ABCC and the Building Taskforce.  Linda will bring great energy and senior level experience to this important position.'

Ms Addison looks forward to working at the ABCC, ‘I intend to spend the first few weeks of the job meeting staff in each state and becoming familiar with programs currently underway. I will take the opportunity to introduce myself to as many industry stakeholders as possible throughout August and September.

Ms Addison will be based in the Melbourne office and commences at the ABCC on 23 August 2010.
