Leigh Johns today wrote to the Deputy Prime Minister tendering his resignation from the position of Deputy ABC Commissioner.
Mr Johns is to take up a senior position at the Office of the Fair Work Ombudsman.
Mr Johns occupied the position of Deputy ABC Commissioner for a period of seven months.
ABC Commissioner, John Lloyd said that Mr Johns had made an excellent contribution to the work of the ABCC.
‘He was an energetic and able leader who managed the affairs of the ABCC’s largest division, the Operations Group, with a high degree of professionalism,’ Mr Lloyd said.
‘During Mr Johns tenure the ABCC undertook a number of very complex and sensitive investigations including the Westgate Bridge case.’
Mr Johns’ last day at the ABCC will be 31 January 2010.
