‘Smaller subcontractors now work with confidence knowing that the law will protect them from threats, intimidation and coercion.’
Appointed as the first ABC Commissioner, Mr Lloyd oversaw the establishment of the agency, the implementation of the Building and Construction Industry Improvement Act 2005 and provided stable governance during extensive policy reviews.
‘The ABCC has faced unique challenges in carrying out its educative and regulatory functions.
‘I am proud that we have remained resolute in promoting respect for the rule of law in the industry.’
Mr Lloyd acknowledged the support the ABCC has received from many in the industry, government and workplace relations.
‘The successes of the ABCC can be attributed to a team of dedicated staff. They will continue to bring the expertise and professionalism to this new chapter for the ABCC.’
