Hooker Cockram applied for a review of a decision of the Victorian Building Industry Disputes Panel (the Panel) under s170LW of the Workplace Relations Act 1996 (pre – reform), regarding payment for workers who attended a meeting purportedly to raise money for the widow of a building worker.
At the AIRC hearing, representatives for the company and the CFMEU advised the ABCC that the union had agreed to accept the finding (see Related documents below) which had been made the previous day by the ABC Commissioner regarding the deduction of pay.
The union indicated that it would, however, be making representations to the ABC Commissioner concerning his findings regarding entry to the site by an official of the CFMEU that led to the action by workers.
