On 30 November 2006, Foster Wheeler Worley Parsons JV (the Joint Venture) applied for an order under s.496 of the Workplace Relations Act 1996 to stop industrial action that was happening and threatened on the North West Shelf Project Phase V in Western Australia.
Employees had stopped work on 29 November and the Joint Venture was concerned that further industrial action would be taken over issues relating to drug and alcohol testing and rosters.
A hearing was convened in the afternoon of 1 December but when the parties reconvened before the Commission the following day the Joint Venture withdrew its application when the dispute was settled.
