Bitupave applied to the AIRC to have a dispute resolution process conducted following an instruction by the AWU to its members at metropolitan NSW sites not to cooperate in the introduction of an automated time and attendance system known as "Personal Attendance and Leave Management System (PALM) also known as "Kronos".
A conciliation conference took place on 28 November 2008 at which the parties were able to agree on an implementation process for the Kronos system. The Commission made a recommendation in line with this agreement which provides for a process of consultation and a monitoring committee to address issues that may arise.
