Background:

Lorna Jane Pty Ltd engaged JP Carpentry to undertake refurbishments of their outlet at the Chadstone Shopping Centre, Victoria.

The ABCC alleges that CFMEU official John Constantinou organised or took action to coerce JP Carpentry workers to join the CFMEU, made false or misleading statements about the workers’ obligation to join the CFMEU, and took adverse action against the workers on the basis of union membership.

The ABCC also alleges that Mr Constantinou took action intended to coerce JP Carpentry into making an enterprise agreement.
